Some plans will be organised. Some will be spontaneous. Some might be a little ridiculous. That’s kind of the point.
Come when something makes you think “I want to do that.” Skip it when it doesn’t.
You choose how Umbrella fits into your life.
If it sounds fun,
we’ll probably try it.
You might be 20 or 65. New to Tenerife or have lived here for years. Working remotely, raising a family, single, retired — it really doesn’t matter.
The idea behind Umbrella?
Umbrella is about finding women to laugh with, make plans with, and say,
“this seemed like a good idea at the time".
We might go for cocktails in our pyjamas, finally wear that ridiculously fabulous
dress we never have an occasion for, show up to brunch in ugly hats, read books that make us blush, make candles, try kickboxing, or take blankets and wine to the beach for sunset.
And every now and then, we might slow things down completely and escape
to another island for a few days.

Probably. We haven’t met you yet, but that’s kind of the whole point.
YOU DON’T NEED A REASON
Want to meet new people? Try something new? Get out of the house? Or just have a really good evening?
THERE’S ALWAYS SOMETHING
Dinner one week. Yoga the next. A beach sunset, a book that makes us blush, a ridiculous theme night, or a weekend away.
COME AS YOU ARE
Come alone. Bring a friend. Come often. Come occasionally. It’s entirely up to you.

A little bit of everything. And probably a few things we haven’t thought of yet.

Good food, good company, and occasionally a dress code that makes absolutely no sense.

How spicy is too spicy? There’s only one way to find out.

We’ll make things and discover whatever else we’ve suddenly decided we’re talented at.
MOVE & TRY
Sometimes relaxing. Sometimes sweaty. Being good at it is completely optional.
SUN, SEA & TENERIFE
We live on an island. It would be rude not to make the most of it.
GO SOMEWHERE
Sometimes the best plan is simply not being where you usually are.

WHO THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA?
Hi, I’m Ketli. That would be me.
I live in Tenerife, while some of my dearest friends are far away. And it made me realise how much the little things matter — someone to call for coffee, walk the promenade with, go out for dinner, or somehow end up singing your way home from a karaoke bar.
The world is big, people move and life changes. But there are always new people we haven’t met yet.
I’ve spent years organising events and theme parties, bringing people together and finding slightly unnecessary reasons to make ordinary life more fun. And yes, I usually have another idea before the last one is finished.
That ’s how Umbrella was born.
A place where it doesn’t matter where you’re from or where you’re going next. There’s always a seat at the table — and hopefully someone who’ll say “I’m in” before asking too many questions.
